Secret Family

Secret Family is a garage rock outfit orbiting between the Bay Area and Montana. Formed around the longtime friend-collaborators of Cody James Bohan and Greg Friendly, the duo spent years writing songs on four tracks, filling boxes with cassettes before bringing this new iteration to life with a larger cast of friends and musicians as the band Secret Family.

Following the release of their debut album, Sardine Dust, in winter 2025, the group has honed their vision and their quest. Secret Family has performed hundreds of shows throughout California and the West, with showcase performances at the 2026 SXSW. They’ve had  appearances at The Stork Club, Hotel Vegas, Chess Club, Bottom of the Hill, Kilowatt, The Filling Station, Haufbrau House, and Kirk’s Grocery. Secret Family’s new single, Taste Like Always, introduces the band’s next, exciting chapter and serves as the first release from the upcoming album Grouse Head Talisman. Many more summer shows and a fall tour are lining up to showcase the new album.

Grouse Head Talisman, a relic built in the mind’s forest, toted around for a year, and followed earnestly. The record is the sonic equivalent: an homage to making your own luck, to friendship as a frequency, and to the hum of the tube. Recorded in a SF studio smelling of amaro and old cables, it's rock n' roll pulled through the fog conduit: Bay Area garage lust meeting Montana river rock. A talisman against dejection, whatever saves you from the slump. Rock and roll forwhomever. Crowd tested over many 2025-2026 shows, ready for album centric ears.
